The Event Controlled Systems (ECS) Project
is looking for a bright and capable student to work on
subjects of interest.
These pages are under construction (semi-permanently).
Please be patient.
What you get & What we get
are looking for a student who would like to work in digital systems
design, and obtain a PhD degree, to work on the ECS project. Australian
residents may be eligible for University scholarships. Overseas students
with an outstanding academic record may qualify for an Overseas
Student Research Scholarship - please contact us for more information.
Pros & Cons
- A PhD degree in digital systems engineering and VLSI, enabling you
to work practically anywhere in the world as a chip designer.
- Three years of fun, working on a challenging project with
a lot of issues to sort out and systems to construct.
- Bad thing (from some viewpoints) - you will have to spend some
chips, which is a byproduct of our objective to build the systems
we talk about, as opposed to just theorising.
- Exchange opportunities in the US, Asia and Europe during your
study, plus the ability to attend international conferences in the
digital design field.
