Current ProjectsNovel fuzzy modelling and design on networked control systemsThe nonlinear effects and analysis have received considerable attention in recent years due to the universal existence of nonlinearities in practice. Meanwhile, with rapid development in network and computer technologies, network-based nonlinear systems have extensive applications but face challenges include nonlinearities and network-induced challenges. This project aims to develop novel analysis and synthesis theories and approaches for nonlinear networked control systems (NNCSs), including modeling, stability analysis, control and filtering problems. A real-time nonlinear networked control system platform will be established to test all kinds of algorithms for NNCSs and further strengthen the scenarios in applications. Control of multi-agent system with limited sensing and communicationThe multi-agent system contains multiple agents scattered in space and the goal is to drive the agents to a predefined formation. The first research question is how to design proper protocols and control laws where only neighbouring agents could communicate and measure relative position and velocity. To solve this problem, we found some restriction on predefined formations, based on which two coordination protocols are designed. Similarly, the second is where communication is shut down among agents. The difficulty is that since communication is shut down, agents lose long term memories and behave in an unknown environment. To solve this problem, we first design a control law that will either drive agents to a partial predefined formation or collision. Then, we designed a coordination protocol to eliminate all collisions. With the increase of frequency, the performance of microwave devices become more and more sensitive to processing precision. In order to obtain more accurate simulation results of a microwave structure, some commercial software, such as HFSS, have to spend more time in simulating. Compared with those methods, when analyze microwave cavity structures, mode matching method, which is based on rigorous electromagnetic field theory, shows its advantages of high precision, fast speed and rapid ratio of convergence. The project aims to design microwave devices such as iris band-pass filter, post band-pass filter, and substrate integrated waveguide diplexer, and analyze the influence caused by processing by adopting the mode matching method.
