Optimisation Development

Two forms of optimisation were the focus of this project, by placing slight modifications on the algorithms formed as part of this project in 2005, it was hoped better optimisation could be provided. Both algorithms are limited by the small memory available in the APs, thus simple dynamic algorithms were suggested. Here the basis for the algorithms from the previous year are revisited [10], as well as options for enhancement. These optimisation algorithms were developed last year for the Minitar MNWAPB, they were adapted in this project for the newer APs, UltraWAP and Linksys WAP54G.

Details of Optimisation Techniques:

Dynamic Changing Fragmentation Threshold

Dynamic Channel Switching
